Design
The AUDI E5 Sportback debuts Audi’s new EV design language in China. Refined through five rounds of user research, it skillfully blends coupe and shooting-brake proportions. The integrated wide-body treatment and a 1.32 width-to-height ratio give the car a pronounced, low-slung stance. For the first time globally, the “Star-Diamond Light Curtain” arranges 942 LEDs within over 40,000 laser-engraved micro-perforations, producing three dynamic welcome light signatures when illuminated. The interior follows a structured architectural aesthetic, combining wood, metal and textile to create a wraparound cabin, and features a dimmable panoramic roof using the same technology found on the Boeing 787 — elevating both refinement and comfort.
Intelligent features
The next-generation sensory interactive digital cockpit runs AUDI OS on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 automotive-grade chip, delivering smartphone-like responsiveness. The central Audi Assistant, powered by Volcano Engine’s “Doubao” large language model, supports semantic understanding, multi-turn conversations and vehicle control — and even offers voice-cloning capability. The Audi Smart Island in the center console integrates 50+ customizable, quick-access blind-operation functions for fast, flexible control.
Driver assistance
In partnership with Momenta, Audi introduces a “German Driving DNA + end-to-end flywheel large-model” solution and coins the concept of “Assisted Mastery,” offering three assistance modes that cover urban, highway and parking scenarios. The system uses 27 perception hardware units and an NVIDIA Orin-X chip to enable full-scenario assisted driving. Both the cockpit and driver-assist systems support OTA upgrades for continuous improvement.
Driving performance
The E5 Sportback uses front and rear permanent-magnet synchronous motors, producing 787 hp and 800 Nm of peak torque, achieving 0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The fully optimized quattro system reacts faster and smarter, recalculating torque distribution every 10 milliseconds and capable of disconnecting the front motor during steady-speed cruising for pure rear-wheel drive. It comes with Brembo four-piston brakes, adaptive air suspension and race-grade chassis materials, fitted with class-leading Pirelli P ZERO 285 rear tyres for exceptional handling. All models are equipped with a CATL 100 kWh battery and a heat-pump system; CLTC range reaches up to 773 km, and the 800V high-voltage architecture supports a fast charge that adds approximately 380 km of range in 10 minutes.
Quality
Built at SAIC Audi’s intelligent manufacturing base, the AUDI E5 Sportback follows Audi’s global quality and manufacturing standards. It endures “two winters and two summers” climate tests and has key performance validated by Audi’s headquarters laboratory in Germany. The vehicle passes 16 high-voltage safety checks that exceed national standards, and every unit undergoes 100% rain-sealing and multi-condition NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) testing to ensure delivery quality and reliability.
